Product Description
12 Ft telescopic fishing rod. Closes down to approximately 26 inches with tip cover installed. Coated handle provides sensitive fishing for light biters and feeling teh bottom when drift fishing without a float.
Light weight and light medium action helps throw light weights and lures out there where the hard to reach fish are.
I love this rod fishing for redbreast, shellcrackers, bluegills, and trout in moving water without a float. Set a size 4 or 6 hook for panfish or a size 10 or 12 for trout. Place a splitshot 18 inches from the hook and cast slightly upstream and let it drift back with the current. This is also a great rod for using floats to drift bait inthe current and to fish around structure.
Getting a float into structure or behind the weeds can make a big difference if you get hung up every cast because you cant get out past the weeds or snags.
This is a light medium action and is a lot of fun on big bluegill and other panfish. I have landed steelhead up to 32 inches with this rod while trout fishing. Lifting fish that weigh more than a couple pounds isnt recommended though and a landing net should be used for very large fish. I swing bream and trout up with the rod though. Bass, steelhead, catfish, and other large fish I lip or net to get them to me to avoid breaking my line or the rod tip.
The reel seet is a slide snap metal type that is wrapped and epoxied . This keeps the reel, line, rod, and your hand in tune with whats happening at the end of your rod.
I use this rod the most and for the most different things of all my travel rods. Its lightweight, iot closes to a small size, its versatile, and sensitive. I can cast roostertails, hooks and worms, or crickets and a small splitshot. I use it from the bank, or from the boat to get under brush where the big bluegill and redbreast live.
Comes with a clear rugged tip protector to protect your rod while you are traveling or packing your rod around.
