Distance casting bottom fishing rig. This rigging has a clip to attach your hook near the weight when you are casting. The clip releases your hook and bait when it hits the water. The purpose of this is to keep the weight and bait in one neat aerodynamic package to help cast further and to help save your bait.

The rig is complete with hook (size 4) and a quick clip to attach your sinker. The leader line is lighter than the mainline.

These rigs can also be used for salmon and steelhead fishing with bait. Some areas call in boondoggling. You throw the line out with heavier weight to hold it in one place. This is most commonly a catfish and surf rig, however it will work in most any circumstances where you need to cast that extra distance.
